Dr. Susan Rutherford
She graduated from University of Toronto in 1985. She has been on staff at The Michael Garron Hospital, part of The Toronto East Health Network since 1985. She is certified by The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a lecturer at The University of Toronto. She is a member of the Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
She performs laser treatments and lid surgery in the out patient eye clinic at The Michael Garron Hospital. She also performs laser treatments in the office.
She did sub specially training in Low Vision at the Toronto Western Hospital, Lighthouse International in New York City and the Harvard Low Vision Clinic in Boston. She has been helping people with low vision since 2007 . She prescribes special glasses with prisms and corning filters to improve vision. She has a full range of low vision aids including magnifiers, electronic magnifiers, telescopes and CCTV's.
Dr. Rutherford is a vendor for low vision aids with the ADP (Assistive Devices Program) which provides government funding for Low Vision Aids in Ontario.
